Our group launched at Sep., 2015. Now, we have six members (including two bachelor students) and three on-going projects: a. Experimental investigation of active particle inside a micro-channel b. Numerical simulation of self-propelling active particle under spatial confinement c. The phase behavior of active particle under external alignment field Our interest of research is the mesoscopic dynamics of coupled many-body system. Different to the macroscopic and microscopic system, both the individual and collective motion are considerable. Therefore, dynamically, heterogeneous motion can be observed at that scale. Meanwhile, we are also interested on some related fields: such as fluid dynamics, complex system and plasma physics. Currently, our experimental platform is the suspension of active particle, which has the capability for converting external field energy to mechanical energy for self-propulsion. It could be one of the simplest non-equilibrium system owing the tunable degree away from equilibrium by controlling its self-propelling strength.
